Bow Braids

So cute and easy to do on dry or wet hair

One of my favourite things about this braid is all the different ways it can be worn to suit your mood or the occasion. For a girly and practical style, two braids to hold all the hair securely back. For a more formal and elegant hairstyle, do a smaller braid as a head band or use only half the hair in a lace braid to make a half-up-half-down style. One of my favourite ways to wear this is as a diagonal braid to end it in a side braid.

For this tutorial I used the idea of two braids. I also did one side before to make it easier to see where the partings are.

Bow Braids

1. Split the hair in half down the middle

2. Take a thin section horizontally to the centre parting and clip it away to use later.

3. French braid the hair left out.

4. Use a bun pin and hook it under a bit of hair in the braid.

5. Use another bun pin and take a section from the hair that was clipped away.

6. Pull a loop of hair through this bun pin and pull it through the first bun pin.

7. Gently pull each pin until a smallish bow shape is created in the French braid (a small bit of hair will be left over but that will be covered by the next bows).

8. Continue to make these bows along the French braid as spaced out or as close together as you like until you run out of hair. Finish this style off with a regular braid.
