Moloh, Tetbury

← Back to the Black Book

‘Regal dandy – sprinkled with preppy.’

This is an elegant shop, in the heart of Tetbury. It takes its name from an old family pet, a chocolate Labrador called Rolo, who was nicknamed moloh. Bags also come in the same ‘Rolo’ shade. And animals are a fond theme, with a special moloh patchwork rug having been created for a horse at the Badminton Horse Trials – with which the label is associated with through a three-year sponsorship.

Founded by Caroline Smiley in 2003, as a stylish range of practical overalls “to be thrown on over smart clothes” moloh today has elevated and expanded into an annual key collection of exclusive and intricate designs produced in pure wool, silk, cotton, velvet, suede and leather – as well as a line of boots, shoes and accessories.

Inspired by timeless, classic style icons such as Julie Christie, Ali MacGraw and Lauren Hutton, moloh’s emphasis is on exceptional uniqueness and lasting style. Each non- seasonal design is produced in short runs from Scottish and English Mills to ensure only the best fabric quality for what is a quintessentially British brand, with customer-base spanning 18 years to eighty.
