Best Dressed of the Weekend: Angelina Jolie at World War Z Premiere

← Back to Blog

Angelina Jolie is all too often seen in head to toe black outfits. Her style off the red carpet is incredibly basic and practical, which is perhaps something to do with having six children. Whether it’s black , grey or beige, Angelina’s wardrobe prove she’s not really a ‘colour person’. It’s a shame because on the odd occasion we do see her in colour on the red carpet she looks really radiant.

On her latest public outing with fiancé Brad Pitt to the London premiere of his new film, World War Z, Angelina proves why she’s loyal to the dark side of style. Wearing a floor-length gown by Saint Laurent, Angelina wowed with the simplicity and elegance of her dress.

After the news of her preventative double masectomy, Angelina looked very well and told reporters; ‘I’m here for Brad. I’m so proud of him.’

The dress, with it’s wrap design across the bust and sheer panel, reminds me of the red Azzedine Alaia dress worn by Rihanna on the red carpet at the 2013 Grammys, but a little more demure.

While Angelina kept her look very minimal, including her make up, we would have loved to see a little something extra in the form of a statement piece of jewellery, coloured shoes or lips, or an acid bright clutch.

Angelina’s appearance at the premiere was at the cost of missing her Aunt’s funeral, so perhaps both her and Brad’s outfits were more a mark of respect. Either way Angelina maintains a dignified elegance, as always, proving that classic shapes remain timeless for a reason. While we would have loved to see a bright accessory or two, in our opinion Angelina still outshone Brad’s co-stars in the style stakes.
