The Life of a CFW Model
← Back to BlogI started modelling at the age of 15 as my mum arranged a photo shoot for my 15th Birthday. I’m a confident girl so loved being in front of the camera as soon as it started flashing! I didn’t have a great interest in modelling as a young child but, once I had built up my portfolio, it allowed me to take part in many photo shoots and catwalks which I thoroughly enjoyed and wanted to do more of, I particularly enjoyed being a CFW model! In 2012, I won ‘The Face of Cheltenham’; in which entailed a photo shoot, spa prize and of course the famous title! I have also taken part in Cheltenham’s Fashion and Beauty weekend, modelling jewellery at The Premier of Sky Fall, many Cotswold Style Fashion Magazines, and photographer’s individual projects, photoshoots for hair salons and bridal designers. One of my favourite modelling experiences was taking part in Cheltenham Fashion Week. I had so much fun wearing stunning outfits and meeting new friends and the odd famous face! I cannot wait for 2013.
Being a model requires patience, versatility, independence and plenty of confidence. It’s a great way of meeting new people, making friends and earning a bit of pocket money! In my experience, I’ve worn many different outfits; from thousands of pounds dresses to a rustic parachute! The clothes, make-up and hair involved can be insane, and for me the best bit! For any girl, having your hair and make-up done and wearing glamorous clothes is the life we all want to be living, right? However, modelling may not be so fabulous at all times. Some looks may not be to your taste which is where patience and versatility comes in handy. If you play up because you don’t like the way you look (which some girls can be like) the photographer or stylist may not want to see you again! Also, many location shoots can be cold and unpractical for the stereotypical model lifestyle.
I love modelling and would love to progress my part time hobby into a possible fashion/design career into my future.
